Hello friends, I hope you’re having a nice summer. I’ve just moved to Brittany! I’m now living in the medieval town of Dinan that I fell in love with this spring. There are so many beautiful places to paint around here and I can’t wait to share my adventures with you.
In the mean time, I have a few bits of exciting news to share…
The first is that I have two paintings on show at The Old School Gallery’s summer exhibition! I was absolutely delighted when they reached out to me as the gallery shows many of my favourite artists and is in the quaintest building you could imagine:
It’s the first time my work is shown in the UK, so if you get the chance to see it in person please send me a photo! If, like me, you’re far away, my pieces are available to purchase from the gallery’s website here.
A bit more about the paintings: they are both based on a wonderful coastal walk in Dinard, Brittany. The one on the left looks over the town with St Malo in the distance; the one on the right is a closer view of St Malo. This part of the coastline really reminds me of Cornwall with its rocky shores and turquoise sea.
I’m happy to announce that I’ll also be taking part in the Two Artists online exhibition. Debbie George and Andrew Sanderson have been holding bi-monthly exhibitions throughout this year and I’ll be exhibiting in September alongside Lily Sanderson. More on that nearer the time.
Finally, I wanted to share that I’m making a Skillshare class! It’s going to be on how to make hand-painted GIF stickers (and make them searchable on instagram stories)! I’ve made a bunch of GIFs in the past year or so and they’re great fun and simple to make. I’ll be sharing my entire process using Procreate, no animation experience required. I’m planning to release the class in early September and I’d love for you to join me!
Well, that’s all from me. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer. I went for my first sea swim in years yesterday and highly recommend!
Till next time,
